On April 13th, join the good people at Scarlett’s High Cotton in Spartanburg for the annual Spring Market Festival.
Spring Market is an all-day community event that celebrates the arrival of a new season and brings together over 30 local craft vendors, makers, artisans, and more! Bring the whole family and peruse all the great, hand-crafted items for sale. For lunch, pick up a plate of delicious BBQ (smoked on site) and a yummy homemade dessert, and then enjoy live music from Jimbo Durham (playing with his acoustic group, Jiggle the Handle) and Uncle John’s Band. The popular Kids Zone will also be back and will feature games and booths for all the little shoppers. The events of the day will help benefit The Spartanburg Humane Society, who will be returning as the official Spring Market charity partner.
Spring Market takes place at 3275 Reidville Road in Spartanburg. The day kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and will close out at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free, however, attendees are asked to register their spot so that organizers have an idea of how many guests to plan for. Vendor registration is currently open as well. Interested parties are asked to message the Scarlett’s High Cotton Facebook page.
Scarlett’s High Cotton: A Curiously Quaint Southern Store
Scarlett’s High Cotton is a delightful boutique that offers shoppers an impressive collection of ladies clothing, accessories, outdoor furniture, antiques, consigned items, and more. The store is also occupied by various independent vendors who sell unique handmade items, such as jewelry, soaps, and candles.
The store was opened in 2017 by local entrepreneurs Carol Blackburn and Jane Brainard, who decided to combine their previous ventures – Scarlett’s Consignment and Liza Jane’ Antique Store & Homemade Desserts, respectively. The location in Spartanburg is actually a larger version of the one they opened in 2015 in Cowpens, South Carolina. Aside from Spring Market, the store also plays host to the Autumn Market, which takes place in October.
Scarlett’s High Cotton is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
